    try是英语中一个使用频度很高的词，在使用时应注意如下要点：

    1．用作及物动词，后面常接名词、动名词或不定式，意为“试”、“尝试”、“试图”、“努力”。

    She is trying my bicycle．

    Why not try this new medicine?

    【注意】 try to do sth．与try and do sth．同义，后者常用于口语，尤见于祈使句中，如You must try and come to the party. 但在过去时态的句子中，tried to do sth. 不可换成tried and did sth. 如He

    tried to pass his driving test. 不可换成He tried and

    passed his driving test．try to do sth.和try doing sth. 含义不同，试比较：

    He tried to hand on his hand but couldn’t．（他想头倒立，可是做不出来。）

    He tried handing his hand but it gave a pain in his head．（他试着头倒立，结果把头弄痛了。）

    2．也可用作不及物动词。

    I don’t think I can do it，but I’ll try．

    I’ve tried again and again but I still couldn’t do it．

    3．“try+副词”构成短语动词。

    ⑴try on试穿“衣，鞋，帽”。

    You’d better try on this skirt before you buy is．

    ⑵try out考试或试验（某人某物）。

    The idea seems fine but we need to try it out in practice．

    【注意】 “try+副词”构成的动词短语，相当于及物动词。凡用名词作宾语，将其置于该短语动词之后或其中均可，但如果宾语是人称代词，则只能把该动词短语拆开，将人称代词宾语置于其中，而决不能置于其后。

    4．try构成习语。

    ⑴try one’s best竭尽所能。

    Let’s try our best to finish the work in time．

    ⑵try one’s luck碰碰运气。

    I think you should go and try your luck．

    5．还可以用作名词，意为“尝试”。

    Let’s have a try．

    I think I should make another try．
