    1) 一棵植物长得怎么样，我们可以从这几个方面来描述：its sprout (它的幼芽)，its root (它的根)，

    its stem（它的茎），its leaf （它的叶），its bud（它的花蕾），its flower（它的花），its fruit（它的果实）；

    而要看一个人做得怎么样，我们则从这几个方面来评判：他/她的心灵(heart)，他/她的思想(thought)，他/她的语言(word)，

    以及他/她的行为(deed)。小朋友，这几个方面，你做得好不好？

    2) 第一段中的四个句子均采用了“隐喻”（metaphor）的修辞手法：将kind hearts比作gardens, 

    kind thoughts比作roots, kind words 比作flowers, kind deeds 比作fruits。

    其实，我们之前早已接触过这种修辞，如Our life is a rainbow. 

    所谓“隐喻”，就是在句子中直接用“是”来表达“像”，如“我们的祖国是花园”（我们的祖国像花园）。

    如果将“隐喻”换作比较明显的 “明喻”，我们可以这么说：Kind hearts are like the gardens; 

    Kind thoughts are like the roots; Kind words are like the flowers; 

    Kind deeds are like the fruits.
