For the first time ever, characters at Disneyland are able to talk directly to guests. Not content with an affable wave or a cheesy photo, the bosses at Disneyland have decided that it’s time for a 21st century take on the meet-and-greet service by allowing some if its characters to converse with visitors. The characters discussed what it is like to meet a lion on safari with one group of visitors and then asked them to share their best roar. Amazingly, the characters’ mouths moved as they spoke and the voices were on-point -- even Donald’s signature raspy tone. And, their costumes even got an update too with casual denim jackets, open collar shirts and polka dots. Unsurprisingly, Disney fans have been sent into a frenzy with the news and although there’s currently just three characters doing the talking right now, if the trial proves successful it’s hoped that Disney will extend the power of speech to the rest of its parks.
